Phenomenal Opening Weekend Momentum
The theatrical release of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has quickly made waves at the box office by surging past the Rs 200 crore mark globally within its first two days. Spearheaded by director Nitesh Tiwari, the multi-starrer feature has demonstrated immense commercial pulling power across international territories and domestic circuits alike.
Industry tracking indicates that the cumulative global gross has climbed to an impressive Rs 221.05 crore. This rapid accumulation establishes a robust foundation for the film's opening weekend run.
Domestic Net Milestone Crossed
Within just two days of theatrical screenings, the production surpassed the significant milestone of Rs 100 crore in India net collections. On Friday, November 6, the feature brought in Rs 48.05 crore net domestically across 23,316 shows.
Although this figures marks a 25.9 percent decrease from its massive opening-day earnings of Rs 64.85 crore across 25,200 shows, the cumulative domestic net has risen to a staggering Rs 112.90 crore, with total India gross touching Rs 134.80 crore.
Language-Wise Performance and Contributions
The domestic triumph is heavily anchored by the Hindi version, which contributed Rs 35.50 crore on Friday alone, making up nearly 73.9 percent of that day's domestic net total. Over the two-day stretch, the Hindi version accounts for 73.5 percent of cumulative domestic earnings.
Regional versions also carved out substantial shares. The Kannada version emerged as the second-highest contributor with Rs 5.15 crore, followed closely by Telugu at Rs 4.75 crore, Tamil at Rs 1.50 crore, and Malayalam at Rs 1.15 crore.
International Box Office Dominance
Beyond domestic borders, the cinematic spectacle has resonated strongly with global audiences. Overseas markets added Rs 35 crore on the second day alone, elevating the cumulative international gross to Rs 86.25 crore.
When combined with the domestic gross figures, the total worldwide collection reaches Rs 221.05 crore. Ticket sales estimates from Sacnilk indicate that approximately 18,56,029 tickets were sold on Friday, pushing the two-day total to 4,381,804 tickets.
Strong Occupancy Rates in Regional Markets
While the Hindi version dominated raw collection numbers, regional versions led the board in theatre occupancy percentages. The Kannada version recorded an overall occupancy of 53.8 percent on Friday, trailed by Telugu at 49.6 percent, Tamil at 58.9 percent, and Malayalam at a leading 65 percent.
Notably, the Kannada 3D variant achieved an extraordinary 71.28 percent overall occupancy, peaking during evening and night slots. Hindi registered a 24.5 percent overall occupancy across its formats.
Evening and Night Surge in Theatres
An analysis of daily show trends demonstrates that audience turnout increased considerably as the day progressed. Night shows experienced a major surge, with Hindi 3D climbing to 45.31 percent occupancy compared to a modest 14.69 percent in the morning.
Similarly, Telugu 3D jump-started from 32.09 percent in the morning slots to 66.82 percent during night shows, pointing to strong evening momentum across multiple territories.
Star Performances and Creative Vision
Aside from commercial milestones, the film has sparked widespread discussion regarding its performances and scale. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi earned acclaim for embodying Lord Ram and Sita respectively.
